Role: Control System Engineer

Location: Thornaby

Salary: Up to 50,000

Start Date: ASAP

We're looking for a talented Control Systems & Software Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team. You'll be client-facing, taking projects from concept to delivery, and building strong, lasting professional relationships.

Responsibilities:

Design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for a range of applications.
Develop detailed designs, specifications, and project documentation.
Support equipment procurement and work closely with production teams.
Lead start-up, commissioning, and acceptance testing, both in the factory and on-site.
Deliver project closeout packages and provide after-sales support.
Travel domestically and internationally for short-term assignments.

Skills and experience:

Degree in Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering (or related).
Strong PLC/SCADA skills, preferably Siemens TIA Portal.
Experience with communication protocols like MODBUS, PROFINET.
Hands on experience with drives, switchgear, and instrumentation.
Ability to take designs from concept through to delivery.
Electrical and hydraulic system experience is a bonus.
Confident communicator, team player, and detail oriented.
